BQ03 – Calcite. Zhudi lead-zinc mine, Zhudi Village, Liancheng County, Longyan Prefecture, Fujian province, China.

Excellent specimen composed of groups of well formed flattened prismatic crystals of Calcite with hexagonal shapes and a marked zoning, these Calcites are known as "sandwich Calcites". The tabular crystals have a translucent zone sandwiched between two milky white zones. Under long wave UV light this form of Calcite is highly fluorescent with a beautiful rich orange glow. Disposed on matrix of dark grey limestone. Nice Calcite from a new discovery in China. The condition is excellent.
